The 4-year programme comprises 8 semesters. The courses are categorized into :
- Programme Core (Humanities, Social Sciences & Management (to gain interdisciplinary knowledge)
- Professional Core (to gain proficiency in domain area)
- Mathematics & Sciences (for analytical ability)
- Professional Electives (for specialization in an industry-specific domain)
- R&D Project (to inculcate a strong research bent of mind)

Biotechnology (BT)
- The Biotechnology programme at NU is driven by the development of theoretical knowledge base as well as the business needs of the Biotechnology sector. It comprises a flexible model where the course content continuously evolves with the rapid changes occurring in the Biotechnology industry. The courses provide competence in Biotechnology through training in the areas of Micro Biology, Biology, Chemistry, Analytical Techniques, Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics. The major thrust of the programme is towards integration of theoretical knowledge with a hands-on practical experience.

Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)
- The programme in Computer Science and Engineering is designed to provide students an overview of computing, an understanding of the concepts, principles and skills in their application and extension and practical experience in applied computing. The programme emphasizes the fundamental principles underlying computing and helps develop an understanding of the engineering considerations involved in computing system design, implementation and usage. The course provides a background in the basic mathematics of computing – logic, sets, relations and grammars.

Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)
- The four-year B.Tech. Programme in Electronics & Communication Engineering aims to create professionals who can engineer large, relevant and robust electronics & communications systems. The programme provides students with a strong background in engineering mathematics and sciences followed by an exposure to the fundamentals of electrical and electronics engineering and communications. The programme also provides mastery over advanced topics such as VLSI Design, Digital Signal Processing, and Embedded Systems to enable students to straddle the overlapping fields of Electronics and Computers, and become experts in Computer Programming, Mobile Programming and Software Systems.

B.Tech. - M.Tech. Integrated Dual Degree

NU offers students direct admission to the B.Tech. - M.Tech. Integrated Dual Degree programme. The five year integrated programme enables students to pursue M.Tech. specialization in the following fields.
- Computer Science
- Electronics & Communication
- Biotechnology
Students select their area of M.Tech. specialization in the third year of their B.Tech. programme. At the end of the fifth year, students receive both B.Tech. and as well as M.Tech. degree.
To apply for the integrated, dual degree M.Tech. programme, students need to indicate the same in the application form.
The selection process for the M.Tech. integrated dual degree programme is the same as the B.Tech. programme. Further, the scholarship awarded to the student is applicable in the fifth year as well.

Regular Admission Mode (RAD)
NU offers admission into its prestigious B Tech programme for the batch 2014 under Regular Admission Mode (RAD) for eligible applicants who are appearing for their Class XII Board Examinations in March-April 2014 or have successfully completed Class XII in March-April 2013 or 2014.
The applicants seeking admission in this mode can also apply for scholarship under the NU Scholar Programme.
There are limited seats for which admission is being granted under the Regular Application Mode. The admission will be granted on a first come first served basis to only those applicants who meet the admission criteria.

Timelines

The RAD application will be available from February 1st, 2014.
The last date of submission of application under RAD is Round 3 - 15th July, 2014.
The PCI should be scheduled within 7 days of submitting the application.
All offers for admissions under RAD will be made typically within 48 hours of PCI.

Process
Applicants interested in seeking admissions in NU under the Regular Admissions Mode (RAD) to either the B.Tech. or the B.Tech. - M.Tech. Integrated Dual Degree programme have to go through the following steps :- Step 1 : Purchase the Admission Application form for INR 1,500 either from application form from NU Admissions Offices. The Application fee can be paid either online/cash or by Crossed Demand Draft in favor of NIIT University, payable at New Delhi.

Step 2 :
Submit the duly completed Admission Application form along with self-attested copies of class X and class XII (if available at the time of application) mark-sheets and if applicable, the ranking / score in JEE-MAIN / BITSAT / SAT / NUET / Any state Engineering Entrance Examination. The application form can be submitted :
- Online on the NU website : application form. Attach a scanned copy of the mark-sheets.
- By post or in person at the NU Central Admissions Office at NIIT House, 85, Sector 32, Institutional Area, Gurgaon, Haryana, 122001.
- To a duly authorized representative in person, details of which are available on the NU website.
- Scanned and emailed at btech@niituniversity.in along with a receipt confirming electronic transfer of the application fee.
- Step 3 : Schedule your PCI online by selecting the PCI location closest to you and the time slot most convenient for you. In case you need assistance to schedule the PCI, contact the admissions office.

Step 4 :
The eligible applicants undergo the PCI either face-to-face or through video conferencing on the day and time selected by them.
The following will be assessed during the counseling interaction :- English communication skills – written & oral.
- Interest & hobbies.
- Degree of self-awareness.
- Out of the box thinking.
- Reason for the choice of stream
- Step 5 : All eligible applicants’ parents/guardian will be invited for interactions with the NU team. The interactions can be either face-to-face or through video conferencing. They will be scheduled either on the same day as the PCI or within 7 days of the PCI. Parents/guardian interaction is mandatory before admission acceptance.
- Step 6 : Applicants to intimate the class XII results (if not intimated along with the application) to University Admissions Office with the reference of RAD Application number latest by Round 3 - 15th July, 2014. In case the results of the class XII examination is not announced by the Board, then the applicant should inform the University Admissions Office of the delay and seek a written extension for submission of the class XII results.
- Step 7 : RAD offer will be made via SMS, email and courier to the selected applicants after the PCI with the applicant and the parent / guardian interaction within 7 days after the announcement of the class XII results or within 48 hours of PCI whichever is later.

Step 8 :
- Applicants who have applied before May 15, 2014, if offered admission, should submit the RAD acceptance Letter duly signed and pay INR 15,000 towards RAD Acceptance fee by cash, electronic transfer, or by Crossed Demand Draft in favor of NIIT University payable at New Delhi within 5 working days from the receipt of Offer letter of RAD sent to the student via SMS, email and courier.
- Applicants who have applied after May 15, 2014, if offered admission, should submit the RAD acceptance Letter duly signed and pay INR 15,000 towards RAD Acceptance fee along with the Applicable Fee (as per the selected payment plan of semester, annual) and interest-free, refundable security deposit. The fee can be paid by cash, through electronic transfer, or by a Crossed Demand Draft in favor of NIIT University, payable at New Delhi within 5 working days from the receipt of Offer letter of RAD sent to the student via SMS, email and courier.

Step 9 :
Candidates to submit proof (original mark-sheet along with self-attested copy) of having passed the Class XII Board examination from any Indian Board or equivalent from outside India with a minimum of 60% marks at the time of confirming admission or by Round 3 - 15th July, 2014.
Applicants who have applied before May 15, 2014 should pay the balance applicable fee as per the preferred payment plan i.e. Semester/Annual along with the refundable interest-free security deposit by June 2, 2014.
From here the status changes from a 'candidate' to a 'student' of NU. -
Step 10 :
Students join the University campus and complete the first registration formalities including submission of original mark-sheet of Class X and XII.
The programme starts on July 17, 2014.

Eligibility Criteria Equivalence for IB and IGCSE Programmes :
- Have filled the Regular Admission form by the specified date.
- Have scored ≥55% marks or equivalent in grades in Class X from CBSE/ICSE/any other board in India or its equivalent from any other country in five subjects (four compulsory subjects are English, Mathematics, Science and Social study. Fifth can be any subject of the student’s choice).
- Score ≥60% marks in Class XII from any Board in India or its equivalent from any other country in five subjects (four compulsory subjects are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology (PCM/PCB) & English. Fifth can be any subject of the student’s choice). For ISC board or a student who has only four subjects, aggregate will be calculated for four subjects only.
- Score in class XII PCM ≥60% for CSE & ECE and in PCB or PCM ≥60% for BT.
- Be appearing in the Board examination in March/April 2014 or should possess the score of Class XII Board examination from year 2012 or 2013.
- Be appearing in either JEE-Main or BITSAT or SAT or NUET (NIIT University Engineering Test) or any State Engineering Entrance Examination.
Terms and conditions :
- Submission of duly completed Admission Application form by specified date with all necessary documents as specified in the prospectus/admission notification along with the application fee of INR 1,500.

- Applicants who have applied before May 15 2014, if offered admission, should submit the RAD acceptance Letter duly signed and pay INR 15, 000 towards RAD Acceptance fee by cash, electronic transfer, or Crossed Demand Draft in favor of NIIT University payable at New Delhi within 5 working days from the receipt of Offer letter of RAD sent to the student via SMS, email and courier.
- Applicants should pay the balance applicable fee as per the preferred payment plan i.e. Semester/Annual along with the refundable interest-free security deposit by June 2, 2014.

The scanned copy of acceptance letter along with the payment details should be sent to Btech@niituniversity.in or couriered to Central Admission Office/Regional Admission Office, failing which the offer of RAD will stand withdrawn automatically. - Regular Admission is valid only for the programme stated in the RAD offer letter for the academic year 2014.
- Submission of proof (original mark-sheet along with attested copy) of having passed the Class XII Board examination from any Indian Board or equivalent from abroad with a minimum of 60% and wherever applicable, the Competitive Entrance Examination scores/ranking within 7 days from the date of admission offer or Round 3 - 15th July, 2014 whichever is earlier.
Eligibility Criteria Equivalence for IB and IGCSE Programmes :

For B Tech programme applicants, who are appearing either for the Cambridge, IGCSE examination (A Level) or International Baccalaureate (IB) with a minimum of five subjects, including Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and/or Biology, admission and scholarship (if eligible) would be granted based on the predicted score. The applicant would enrol at NIIT University and deposit the applicable fee. On receiving results, by Aug 11, 2014, the admission and scholarship would be confirmed and the candidate would need to deposit the applicable fee, based on the actual score achieved.

Fee Payment Plans :
A student can change the selected fee plan as per the following conditions.
For changing the fee plan the student will have to pay a change processing charge of INR 1,000 every time a request is made for a change.
A request for change can be made only once in a year.
The student should contact the University Accounts department to get the exact amounts payable consequent to any fee plan change.

Annual Payment Plan (APP)
The total fee payable by the candidate in the Annual Payment Plan (APP) is as per the table below. The first year’s fee is payable at the time of enrollment. The subsequent years’ fee is payable in advance by June 1 every year. The fee shown for year 2, 3, and 4 is a projected fee, assuming 5% escalation every year. The exact amount will be informed to the student at the beginning of the year.-
